I just solved the same problem. Engine removed and changed the main and rod bearings with a crank grind. In addition you get to do the front and rear main seals. Recomend changing the oil pump with a new high volume pump from VPW. I now have 42 pounds cold and 38 hot! I did not do a full rebuild.
