Hiram, I actually disagree....These trucks were originally painted with many of the original parts assembled as you can see by many of the fastners being painted on the firewall, doors, etc. You may even notice that even the door hardware-window regulators, door latches etc were installed in the door prior to painting. If you want a great old power wagon that you intend to drive daily, wash rarely & not ever worry about it aging....go the route of the base-clear Poly Eurethane & take every piece apart & coat them. If you are restoring your truck to be as original, the hood was originally painted as a unit at the factory & your truck is worth the most re-done in this manner. It would also judge with higher points should you ever care to have it judged at a concours show. Either way, it sounds like your truck is progressing nicely.
