With the early W100 semi floating axle you will most likely need a commercial grade (snap-on, etc) drum puller. After backing off the center bolt it attaches to 3 of the studs with the center bearing on the axle shaft. It usually takes considerable pressure, sharp blows on the end, more turning, sometimes heat and then pop. Some of the older brake shops or tool rental may have one to loan or rent. A good one is over $100 unless found at a swap meet. AMC and Chrysler we the last to use that setup. The later '58 W100 switched over the the full floating rear, a much better setup.
