I always thought that an air straight board was for very fine finish sanding of primer on panels like doors & hoods and that it required a pretty skilled touch to use effectively? Can those same sanders be used to strip off the nearly 50 years worth of paint layers on my '53? Why would this work better than a DA orbital air sander? I agree that the grinder with a sanding pad will etch the metal. I guess I was looking for a timesaving stripper. Considering that my truck will always be just a work truck and never a show piece, won't a good primer/filler do a fairly decent job of covering the grinder marks? Thanx for any comments, Bruce
