Hi Jason,

Can't remember the truck your working on, but sounds as though your working with tappered axle shafts since you have an axle nut. Your probably working with some hubs/axles that are very rusted together. If you haven't already you may want to try this:

- Using a hammer, hit the front side of the brake drum at it's outter edge, moving around the drum - this is to create vibration to break the rust;

- Screw on the axle nut till it's flush with the axle end. You want some gap between the nut and hub. This is to keep the axle from spreading out when hitting the puller. Get the biggest puller you can, and attach it to the wheel hub, and tighten it as tight as you can;

- Using a sledge hammer, hit the puller a couple of times, but not real hard. Retighten the puller and repeat until it's broken free.

- Had a 49 Studebaker truck with the same problem and that's what it took to get them off. Good Luck
