Might I suggest a weed burner? It is available at most large propane dealerships and Large Hardware stores. It is basically a wand with a heck of a big burner at the end. I use mine for many, many things besides burning weeds. it is perfect size for heating large parts. Mine can throw a 4 foot flame. It has an ajustable flame and runs on a propane BBQ tank so it is cheap to use (no more expensive disposible little propane bottles). Total cost about 45 bucks including hose. I use mine on some form of plumbing or oddball use almost every week. I included the link to a wierd looking one at harbor frieght for $10 but it looks like you would need to buy a hose for it. Check the large hardward store first because this one just looks strange.
