Only idea I have is to wear waders when the rain gets to 18 inches. I've been following your posts and I have to say that all I have is a headache!! ha!ha! Keep at it, you're bound to find/stumble onto a solution sooner or later. The early cast iron small block bell had about 19 bolt holes and fit just about anything that wasn't a BB, I'm wondering if a 361 early cast iron bell would do the same thing?
