i say its totally worth it! my cousin and i are currently restoring a '76 pw and it has been great. weve changed over the axle (someone ground a hole through our spindle!!)fenders, hood, soon the cab and bed will go too, plus when we got the new axle the yolk was screwed up!! we ended up retapping the holes on the yolk plus someone stole all our brake lines (and door panels and glove box and steering wheel, broke the window..........) off the back axle and cut the rear main line before the soft line! so there too we ended up re-running almost all the brake lines! So don't let anyone tell you it's too much work! plus the fact that you really don't see nice 70's pw's driving around, granted they're still around but most don't look so hot! i think it would be a great tribute to your brother. one thing though speaking from experience, lose the holly carb! they're notoriously touchy and a gigantic pain in the ass. i'd go with either an edelbrock (600cfm) or a similar carter (afb) depending on engine size and tranny you may also want to completely re-jet/needle it i personally have the competion series carter on my ram ('85) and we just put the edelbrock afore mentioned on my cousin's '76 you also may want to try an MSD ignition they're alot more dependable (i've heard from several mechanic friends)than the old e.c.u. (ignition module).. good luck.
Peace,
Mopar Man
P.S. feel free to e-mail me @sasquatch711@aol.com i have alot of experience with 70's-80's dodge trucks. plus my granfather has been a mechanic for sixty years so if i don't know he probably will!
