Hi Michael,
There is some value in the '74 Power Wagon, although it is at the lower end of the scale, it will continue to appreciate. However, unless we are in the business of restoring trucks and selling them for $30,000, the main reason we do this is love of the hobby. Very seldom does anyone restore a vehicle to showroom quality and recover the costs. I have over $8,000 in my frame off restoration of my Dad's Power Wagon, I will probably never see that money again, but it was my Dad's truck and it is priceless to me. I'd say, that because of the memory of your brother, your truck is priceless to you. Even if the market value was $15,000, which it isn't (yet) I'd have a hard time selling that truck. Some of us get attached to our trucks for various reasons, most of which are hard to explain. Just make sure that whatever you spend is affordable to you, food and shelter come first, then the unexplainable urge to keep our past alive through these trucks.
Good luck,
MoparNorm
