You say you've briefly run on a flat without the tire spinning when screwed to the rim.

I know that letting the air way down has torn beads loose from rims, even when screwed together. This was from some very hard rock crawling. Admittedly, it took some real punishment to do this, but it can happen. For the few who really punish their trucks, beadlocks certainly are not "trendy".

You are correct about the price. Any beadlocks I've seen that fit the M37 are $200 and up, not $100.

Would I run a beadlock? I doubt it. My goal is to make a very capable 4x4 truck that will get me from Point A to Point B regardless of conditions, and just as importantly have it look original. Thus, I will be running the stock rims, which means I have no choice but to forego bead locks, and that I am stuck with tubes.

One thing I do not like about tubes is that once punctured, they go flat very quickly. Sometimes it is amazing how quickly they go flat. Almost makes you think you had a blowout. I really don't cotton to that for an M37 doing 55 mph. The problem is tubes at times don't just get a small hole. The hole will sometimes expand out to a large size. Also, tires will often hold air or at least leak very slowly from objects like nails. Tubes will not.

I wish someone made a modern tubeless clone of the stock M37 rim.
