Coming back from Wenatchee the other day in my '93 W250 Cummins and the tranny starts making noises. No load, just crusin' down highway 97. Then the noise stops. Starts again in about 4 miles and within 5 secs clang! and it dies. Won't pull in any gear except 4th. Must be the countershaft broke, huh?

I went down with a buddy and trailer and drug the poor thing home. Will be putting it up on the rack soon and trying to get her going again. I am determined NOT to replace the Getrag. I've heard bad things about them and now I have experienced it firsthand. Only 150k miles and it puked!

I have an NV5600 from a '99 4x4 that I want to adapt. Anybody done this before on a '93?
I know it's pretty straightforward on the '94 and up trucks, but the only info I have found so far is from www.drivetrain.com in Las Vegas. Anybody in the neighborhood is welcome to come by and heckle me. <grin>

Thanks for any info.--Gil
