OK Doug,
You should know better but here goes; If you sell your place in CO, you'll have just enough money to last for 6 minutes in CA. And that won't cover the taxes, fees and stupid BS the leftist are constantly cooking up here. Housing is overpriced, traffic sucks, air quality is poor, and there is too many taxes. Regulations for owning a business are rediculous, fees and insurance are too high and, oh yeah, there are those taxes. I was looking at a gas pump last week, federal tax was around .21 cents and state taxes were around .41 cents, per gallon. The damocrats are trying to pass a .50 per gallon additional tax, a .02 cents per mile "use" fee and a $3,500. flat tax per truck, van and SUV, at sale. The governor, "Gray-out" Davis can't figure out that the state has no business in the power business, and yet we still have a shortage of electricity, for which we pay three times the national average. The State is 24 billion in debt after just one year of his fiscal policies and we are, by law, supposed to have a ballanced budget, so taxes will have to be raised to bail his incompetent fanny out of his screw-ups and we will still have services cut. Oh and did I mention that we have some of the highest taxes in the US? Low school test scores, high crime, and pollution. Tell the wife to get a grip and you'd be way better off to move the rest of the family out to CO.
