By the way, this is only if the connector is necessary at all. I agree with earlier post. Solder only is best. But sometimes you need the connector.

Also, when you tin the ends, you will have a stress point at the other end of the rigid wire where it becomes flexible. This is alleviated somewhat by the heat shrink tube, but be aware that the wire will now fail at this point if it is allowed to move or vibrate.
