I've been wrong before, but I'd be willing to put money on it that if you install that Accel coil & the 8mm wires, you won't get one extra hp out of the ol' flathead.
There are things one can do, but the weak link on both the 230 & the 251 is the bottom end. If you squeeze another 25hp out of it, you're not going to get much life before you fry it.
I think if you wanted more power out of one of these trucks & weren't worried about throwing a rod through the side of the engine, you could properly Balance the engine, raise the compression with slightly different pistons or by milling the head & installing either a dual carb set up or even better yet, adapting a Weber carb to fit. Then maybe you'd see an advantage from the dual exhaust, but all this would be crazy in the long run. If you really want a few more hp, & I emphesize FEW, find a 265 Spitfire motor & drop her in. That'll give you your 25hp increase & still look nice & stock.
