Several Questions

I have the following questions:

1) When I removed the intake and exhaust manifolds from my 230 flathead, there were 4 tapered castle nuts (acorn nuts) that came off from somewhere. Now it has been quite a long time since I removed these nuts and I don't remember where they go. I think they are supposed to go in a particular spot to keep the manifolds from cracking. Can anyone help?

2) I installed a NOS carburetor in place of my original. Originally, there was a length of pipe running from the oil filler tube to the carb (part of the PCV system?), but the new one does not have a place where this pipe can attach. Should I block off the pipe and not worry about it, or should I try to rig it to feed into the new carb somehow? The new carb is a B4 D6G1.

3) I installed a Crane electronic ignition system in an original Dodge flathead 6 distributor with vacuum advance. What should the spark plug gap be now?

Thanks,

Matt
