Bob,
There were probably several manufacturers of PTO winches for your truck. The factory unit was a Braden LU-2. The PTO drive unit should be readily available. Check the parts source links page on the Power wagon home page, or M-37 and PW Central.

There is nothing terribly complex about installing a PTO system. If your truck never had a PTO, there should be a knock-out in the transmission cover section of the floor board. Punch that, and install the rubber boot, you will have paid too much for. Then remove the PTO cover from the transmission, and install the PTO gear box in its place. There is endless discussion of how thick a gasket goes in here. It has been my experience that the tolerances are not that precise. The winch unit simply bolts to the frame, and bumper extensions. To install a 100% factory setup, you probably would have to find a different front bumper, but a lot have simply been done on modified front bumpers. The drive shaft connects the winch and gearbox. There should be a hole in the frame cross-member it passes through.

Good luck

Harris
