The manual does not say it is a 251, it just gives
the bore and stroke. They are 3 7/16 and 4 1/2,
this does make it a 251. If the stroke were
4 1/4, it would be a 237, and if it were 4 3/4, it
would be a 265, both of course were known
configurations for this block.
