We have a '79 1/2 ton 318 Power Wagon to haul our deer dogs (beagles) out into the woods and after we get off the good roads catching them up at the end of the day, to get us out of some of the godawful bogs and slews imaginable. I've gone through this particular Website and realize I have pretty much a conventional pickup compared to most of the chatter. I've tried some of the links but they're not like yours, with the give and take. So, if someone knowledgeable happens to hit on this, perhaps you can give me some advice. On a flat surface (uncrowned smooth roadway) I get a tremendous yawing from side to side. I had some shims put in the steering post, and got aligned, but it persists. No big deal. Most the time I'm floor pan deep in water and mud chasing after the song of the pack. I got the truck second hand and assume it wasn't wrapped around a pole or anything. Maybe this is a natural characteristic being lifted and having oversize tires, with which I have no prior experience, having just 'retired' from the big city. I'm satisfied with this thing but, boy, I'd like to come barreling up out of a dim road one time with something the likes of what you guys talk about. This forest green beauty is codenamed 'Big Boy' and is the brother of that picture on the link captioned 'my favorite' with just the top part sticking up out of the water.
