Alan, Chrys. marine and industrail engines had an option of a waterproof ignition and they were in 6V, 12V, and of course 24V, depending on their age and application. Could be you've got one of those in 12V. About 30 years ago I overhauled an engine on a small town's air raid siren (storm warning) unit, it was a Chrys. V8 industrail hemi with, you guessed it a waterproof ignition. They wanted it to start in the middle of a storm, it was also fueled with L.P.G., no worries about sour gasoline or water in the gas. The Chrys. Marine engines also used a waterproof and sparkproof ignition and there were lots of them both 6 & 8 cylinder. I think you can still get parts thru Mopar. Good luck, Bert Wilson
