This is just a cover on the clutch/flywheel/pressure plate.
Vintage Power Wagons sells a nice reprint of the owners manual for the Civilian Power Wagon.
Power Wagon Advertiser has a manual of reprints from the magazine that cover the major assemblies -- front & rear axles, brakes, transfer case, etc.
