Something to be aware of are the different types of hardtops available for the M37-M42 trucks: 1st type, original Dodge artic top. Double wall, sliding glass window. Best all around. 2nd type, a converted WW2 GMC hardtop, has oval window. Was official, as the military contracted a NY company to make the modification kit and repackage them for re-issue. A real pain to mount, and if you don't cut the steel from over the door, can leave a nasty cut in your back! 3rd. type, a commercial steel unit, patterned after the original. Made in California in the 70's, no longer available new. 4th type, fiberglass. Made up for big dealers like Memphis, usually found in the "yello sheets" truck sales. Probably enough around to see one, but broke up easily and didn't last. dg
