Dave, have you tried looking at the "DODGE PICKUPS and RESTORATION GUIDE 1918 - 1971" by Don Bunn and Tom Brownell. I happened to be looking through my copy last night and I think there may some info that may help. There is a very good discussion about stellite valve seats. Apparently all Dodge Truck engines had these. However the heavy trucks had even harder seats (large tonnage). I might note I am having a similar ID problem with the engine in my M37. I have a block that appears to be out of something older than the M37 vintage. It has headstuds instead of headbolts. I was around Dodge flatheads as youngster in the 60's and 70's and though i've seen a headstud mixed in with headbolts I have never seen all headstuds. Anyway take a look at the book I mentioned.
Lots of luck.
