I have aa M-37 that has the slanter in it, it is very nice!! Has the lugging power you want, yet it scoots down the road nice too!
I did not do the conversion, but it looks very clean and straight forward! My truck has the 4 speed NP-435 in it, the only trouble I have is the pto outlet is on the passenger side so I am going to swap it out for a NP-445-D1 that I have and then I can hook up the winch! If you are going to use an automatic like the 727, you will need a 'short' tailshaft assy instead of the regular one. (The short one measures about 12" long) The regular one is around 19" long, it wont allow you enough room between the tranny and the transfer case. Both are of the three point mounting...2 motor mounts and the third on the tranny outpu shaft assy. Good luck! I hope to have time to take some pix of uit one of these days!!
