What about the 258 inline six common to jeeps? It's a AMC, but sort of a mopar cousin. That has seven main bearings and is tough as nails, you could put a mopar fuel injection kit into it or a clifford intake headder system on it and have no worries about torque or power. I'm suprised no one has done a 258ci 6 conversion. By the way Brian, I'll be coming through Portland the end of the month if you still want to do the wheel swap.
