Start with the ignition switch. Make sure:
- The wire going from the "I" terminal is tight and making a good connection;
- That your getting current to the "+" side of the coil;
- Current from the "-" side of the coil to the distributor;
- Make sure the points are properly gapped and clean;
- If no spark still, then you probably have grounded points that you will need to try and find what is causing it - usually worn insulation or not properly installed.
