Forgive me Randy, for saying a different thing, but I think Friday might be better, as it does not have the frenzied atmosphere of Saturday, and the distinct feeling you will run out of time.
Friday is really good at the fairgrounds, you can see virtually everything you would see Saturday, with a bit more relaxed atmosphere. Also, you might have better access at Vintage Power Wagons if you want to buy things.
I am asked this question pretty often, and my suggestion is Friday. Have fun, no matter what you decide.
