Just to clarify, you gave him the advice on converting from 6V to 12V, besides converting from pos to neg ground. He didn't exactly say that he was starting from 6V. If he was starting from 12 V pos ground, he doesn't need to change lights, flasher or gas gage. I don't think there'd be any difference with the condenser, and maybe not even with the coil if you change the ballast resistor. The only problem using a 6V coil on 12V is it would get hotter. Why would you change the ammeter? You can swap the leads to make the pointer go the right way, and ammeters don't care about voltage. Is it just that you'd want a smaller full-scale range if your 12V generator puts out half the amps that the 6V one did?
