the fuel pumps are currently not equipped to handle todays poor quality fuel. call john bizal @ midwest military. he just sold me a rebuilt fuel pump with modern buna n (i think) diaphrgam that is resistant to the new fuel. the new fuel swells the old material and causes the pump to leak or perform poorly. when the rubber goes, fuel dumps directly into the engine. while changing pumps, you have a few options. buy a 3/4 late wc pump like i did for 53 bucks rebuilt or go for a m-37 fuel pump. this pump has a vaccuum pump on the bottom that will power your wipers or other vaccuum device better than using the manifold tap. i have electric wipers so i bought the 53 dollar solution. the pump is a high quality ac rebuilt unit. good luck
