I have a '77 W200 Crew Cab. I have been wondering about that Mile Marker 203 Conversion kit. I have only seen pictures of the kit so far, but if it replaces the spider gears with ones with flat edges so they can not turn, could you not just weld the spider gears together and serve the same purpose. I plan to disassembly my t/c soon to see if this is possible or not. Has anyone else tried or thought of this before?
I may be crazy but I think that it would work.
