The easiest way the get the engine out is to remove the radiator/cowl/grill assembly, I think it is 6 bolts and the two big nuts below the radiator frame. Takes about 15 minutes. Then you have great front access. The TM says to remove the front fenders with the above-mentioned assembly, but that would be unwieldy.
