Hello James,
I got my transmission from Ebay. It is out of a '98 Chevy 1-ton 2 wheel drive. This is how it was labeled so I got it cheaper than the $1000 plus they have been going for. I got the bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate and flywheel, but I dont' think I can use them.

For the input shaft, I can get an appropriate clutch to match up to the splines. And I figure I can buy or machine a bushing or bearing for the pilot shaft. If I get the input shaft form a Dodge, it will be an 1" longer and maybe i could make an adapter between the transmission and bell housing. Or as was mentioned in this thread earlier, there is a bellhousing from Eastwood that should fit. Now I just need to figure out how long my current input shaft is in the NP435.

On the output side, I think it will be easy to shorten the shaft between the tranny and transfer case. And I think a driveline shop will be able to make them match up.

I will start my project after the Hollister Power Wagon Rally.

Good luck,
Bob
