Gas Tank

The gas tank that came with my Command Car (not installed) was described to me as an aux generator tank and that it would fit into a M-37 nicely. The tank is perfect (may never have been used). The holes all appear to be in the right position. The number on it is 97 403/13225E 8390 MFR 191??? (paint is smudged). Any idea if this will work for a M-37 and what a fair price might be?
