Both the 1950 and 1954 had non-sync, New Process 420 trannies (sync trannies began in 55). The 230 engine which was used from 1946-1960. 1961-68
had the larger 251 engine which shares the same block with the 265 engine. The difference is basically just a different crank with a longer stroke and (maybe longer rods)?
