Boil the water first, take the pot off the fire then add the grounds to top of water but don't stir it. Put the cap on the pot and let it set a few minutes. Then give the grounds a gentle stir just to break the surface adhesion. Replace the top and wait a couple more minutes to let the grounds settle. Then pour your coffee gently from the top and leave the grounds to settled at the bottom. Don't shake or stir the pot. This way your coffee is clear and not muddy. Cold water will settle the grounds a little faster but the coffee will be cooled and not as flavorful.
