Cliff, The standard rim/tire size for a WDX through WM300 truck was 6.50X16 rim and 9.00X16 tires. This also gave you a 5.83 ring and pinion gear set. 7.50X16 tires with a 4.89 ring and pinion set was optional. My guess is that the 7.50X16 tires used the smaller 5.50X16 rim that you are asking about. It's my understanding that not very many trucks were ordered with the optional tire size/ring and pinion sets. If you are interested in someday converting your third members over to 4.89 r+p sets, there is an outfit in Indiana that makes them. Robert
