I just got a PW spare tire carrier from Ebay (Thanks Eric) for my 2WD B1 1 Ton. I am adding a reciever hitch and losing my under bed spare. This bracket is massive to say the least. On the stock PWs how do they mount to the bed side ? The PW parts book mentions a brace 1189417. Any backing plate or other supports to spead the load on the bed side wall ? Or does it get mounted to the frame someway ?
