Good story! However, back in the sixties when I started four wheeling we refused to use NDT's they were refered to derisively as gravediggers. There were not a bunch of high dollar tires around or if there were my finances couldn't swing them. My budies and I ran what would be called a street tire. The answer is low end tourque and ground clearance. I went just about anywhere I needed to go in the Arizona desert in a '52 m38. If things got rought we ran the tire pressure down to about twenty pounds and went on. I can tell you that more than once I was a good many miles off the macadam, over mountain and through wash only to find some old guy crawling along in a Model A Ford (clearance and tourque). Experience helps some also.

BWT gonna drive the WC10 Carryall from the other side of Phoenix to Big Bear (Modesto Area - Military Vechicle Rally) the weekend of the 12th. Any of you guys from Holister - smile and wave. Wish I had time to do both!
