Thats right, there is no good reason to damage the wheels. It amazes me how many people have a real problem with split rim wheels. Seems alot of people are scared of them because everyone has heard of people getting killed by a popped ring. I've had spit rims on a lot of trucks and never had a bit of trouble with any oif them. I'll admit a rusted 60 year old wheel makes removing the tire a bear, but once the rim is cleaned up the new tires go on easy, no need to distroy the rim in the process.
