This may seem like a bit of work, but it should help. If possible remove the floor boards exposing the transmission. Then remove transmission top cover. This allows you to look down inside the transmission while you are using various size shims and see what kind of a gear mesh pattern you are getting while using different combinations of shims. This was how I did mine only mine was out of the truck. Easy way to refill the transmission with gear oil when you are done to. Just make sure that the shifter forks line up right when you reset the transmission top cover. Robert
