Front springs flat?

My front end is low so I think my springs are shot,after looking closer I see that the main leaf is in three parts that have gaps at the "U" bolts. Is this right? What is the make up of the front end on these things. How much arch will the spring have with the truck sitting on it? Thanks for any help.
