I bought a 3ton rolling, 1ton dragging winch from Northern...I loaded an '85 GMC 3/4 ton pickup and the winch kept shutting itself off every 20sec or so...it did the job but barely. Nice thing is this winch has a hand crank in case the battery does die. For a PW, I would buy something bigger. The weight is one thing, but when the PW is stuck in dirt from years of sitting or there is an incline, I don't think a 3ton will handle it...just my .02. Guy(NH)
