Today I added to my addition with a new (to me)46 Power Wagon. For the last year this person who knew that I have a 52 PW has been phoning to come have a look at his 46. He called again yesterday and said he needs some money pretty bad to come and buy his truck. He told me what he needs for it and today I went over (only 45 miles) to pay for it.
This truck is in much better shape than I had expected, all glass is good, body has no rust, all lites, lenses and are there and in great shape, Body has only a very few cab dents, front fenders are perfect, also has front winch that looks like it works. No running boards and no box. Says it needs brake rubbers and has not ran for about 4 years. Motor looks great with no exhaust cracks, and only 37,000 miles on odometer.
Now the weird part, he has always told me that it has some huge swather/combine tires on it. Well it does and rims are widened to about a foot deep with great big old tires on it. They were probably made up, but I seem to remember someone had posted a picture of an early PW Swamper with some large tires on it. Could this be one of those trucks? This truck is a Fargo Series #FL2-26 and came from High Level, Albert about 10 years ago. I took some digital pics today and should have them up in a little while for you to look at. Anyone have a picture of one of the PW Swampers that they can post?
