Welcome to Forum #63

It got a little hectic yesterday afternoon as some rouge was posting messages under the guise of regular contributors. That's one of the pitfalls of being on the 'net. Help me to hone up my skills with blocking out unwanteds.

On a sad note, I'm off to attend the funeral of my uncle Joe this morning, no condolences needed. Great guy, WWII veteran, 83 years old. He always had some good stories about the war, he drove a lot of the Dodges, and had good things to say about 'em. I had picked him up in past years to attend Military Vehicle shows, he said his trucks never looked that good. My kids would enjoy going to his house because he always asked if they wanted to drive one of the tractors, he didn't have to ask twice.

He was a tool and die maker by trade, still had a machine shop set up in the garage. He even fashioned some hinge pins for the Power Wagon for me, he was a talented guy.

He was on his way back to Massachusetts from Mardi Gras in New Orleans, he had been going down for the past 10 years to hook up with one of his friends who ran a couple of shrimp boats. Good reason to do some fishing, and have some fun. He always came back with bags of beads and trinkets for the kids picked up after the parades.

He was on his way back, but never made it. He was found in his motorhome in Alabama -heart attack.

So it's to you Joe, and all the WWII veterans out there, that I'll dedicate this forum. Thank you for putting your lives in harm's way, so that we could live in freedom.
