Fenders on the 1st and 2nd series beds are different. They mount differently to the bed. One mounts with the screws parallel to the rear axle (2nd series) and the other has the screws at 90 degrees to the axle (1st series). The 2nd series, has a mounting flange that is not present on the 1st series. I have seen several 2nd series fenders that people who have bent the flange to try to make it fit on a 1st series bed. They seemed to have failed. I spent several years looking for a set of good 2nd series fenders to replace the slightly dammaged one on my truck. I finally got them and have the NOS ones in storage waiting to be put on.
