I've been working on getting my bed put together for a while, and from what I can tell the boards are 1" thick. I don't mean a 6" x 1" that's actually 3/4 of an inch in actual thickness, but a true 1". A lumber store near me has 5/8" planks that run about a true 1". Just what I'm toying with using. Check with the professionals though!
