What really sucks is most of our beloved Dodges had rust built right into them from the factory. I have noticed tho that pre-1981 Mopars just rust like mad, while 81-ups dont rust as bad. The Trucks from 81 up dont rust as bad or too bad at all. BUT when they re-skinned Dodge pickups in 81, they started Galvanizing them too. Its kinda Comical in a way, as the Volare-Aspen twin vehicles built from 76-80 were so rust prone that they had many recalls because of it, and it was not uncommon up here for somebody to buy a new Volare-Aspen and a month later find rust all over the car. That has always been Mother-Mopars biggest downfall..RUST!

It seems as tho up here in Michigan, it is almost inpossible to find a truck of anykind that is more than 8 years old that does not have rusty rockers, and box fenderwells rusting, and a truck up here that is 12 years old, normally has a rusted out tailgate, and floorboards. I have seen and have a few trucks and vans with frames that have rusted right out, and it is very common for rust up here to attack a frame or unibody so bad, that the car will literally rust in half!
