front drum removel on 68 W-200?

I'm doing a brake job and don't know how to remove the front drums? do you have to remove the hubs to get the drums off?
Also need adive on how to tell if the U-joints in the steering knuckle are bad and how to replace the oil seal on the knuckles which leak bad. thanks for the help kenneth
