......I use the product by Loctite called EXTEND Rust Treatment which contains Vinyldene Copolymer chemicals and Barium Sulfate and Butoxyethanol....this produces a tough protective (primer accepting) coating that seals the metal along with destroying the rust...........seems to work GREAT for the rust that can develop in California....I am sure it may be another story in Maine on the East Coast.
