Help! I’ve got this nasty rumble/vibration coming from GUS’s (B-1 PW)front end. It only occurs in 4-WD, when shifting from 3rd to 4th and when I let off the gas while in 4th. I have gone through my t-case and found nothing. Front drive shaft and all u-joints are in very good to new condition. Both drive shafts are in phase. I’ve also disassembled the front axel and can find nothing wrong with one exception: I had an improper right inner axel shaft that was binding in the diff. side gear splines. I installed the correct stock inner axel shaft but still have the vibration. Everything turns smoothly, with no excess lash. The differential gears all appear to be in great shape. I’ve been hesitant to completely tear down the diff., but that may be the last resort. Anybody ever have or hear of this problem? Any help a plus...I’m running out of ideas!
