I went through the same problem. You're talking about those shouldered nuts with washers that go through the rim, right? I kept ordering them and they would come in wrong. I finally discovered that they had discontinued these nuts due to breakage. You see, a 5/8" lug nut with a 3/4" OD only leave 1/16" of material connecting the head to the shoulder. So I got the same nuts for Heavy Duty truck application unfortunatelt the shoulders were 13/16" OD and only came in RH thread. I too wanted to keep the LH threads just on general principals, but I was tired of not being able to drive the truck and couldn't afford new rims with acorn nuts which are available. So I had the rims bored out to accept the bigger nuts. If you managed to get 3/4" OD nuts (if that's what your rim uses) I would recommend doing what I did or get different rims. I'm fond of the solid center white rims from Stockton Wheel and intend to get those someday after I install my 4.10 gears and disk brakes. I'll need some nice 38" radials and some taller springs :-)
